In the Clearing
04:01
|
|||
i watched you dancing in the clearing
to the music of the gurgling streamlet
my mind failed and i couldn't move
too shy and halted to disturb your peace and freedom
your movements were your essence
so i just watched your hands so lightly waving
your bare feet and gracious steps
the hair that followed every turn of your head
the body pure and naked
the spirit free and easy
were you a part of this forest or the nature herself?
and how did i get to this forest?
i don't remember
i've never been there since
and will hardly ever be again
was it a dream? or did my memory stray?
was it the loss that led me this way?
enchanted and barren of speech and motion
seemed something superhuman had opened to me
but that was a mystery of the human greatest beauty
the memory of which is lost irretrievably
only you restored it for an instant to me
was it you who flew in my window when i was a child?
and brought coolness of forest and river
those stuffy summer nights
and i didn't move and held my breath
your night kiss remained with me
but you drew me back to my dream
and by the morning no traces of you could be seen
was it you or your twin?
and now i'm recalling this forest
and how i lost my language and thoughts
at the sight of your primeval dance
you hummed and the air brought your melody
through the leaves and the beasts and the birds
and the sang it along
and this song echoes still
and this song echoes still
and this song echoes still
and your tune echoes still
i hear it all around

Interlude I
01:25
|
|||
i didn’t see your ship
though i’d been waiting on the shore without a wink
welcoming dawn and seeing off the dark
when sleeplessness revealed
i found myself obeying to the sea
and debris of the scarlet sun in it
the earth could take no hold of me
and let me go
though i resisted to the sea and remained ashore
but where are you now
my dear friend
i've been waiting for?

Grasshoppers
05:34
|
|||
in the herbs of the field smelling sweet
you leant to the ground listening silence
of a cheerful grasshoppers' choir
melting down your canvas in colours so bright
my dear friend dressed in a simple garment of summer
woven with sunset skies and cool of the evening
and wind swaying leaves on the trees
you're giving me smile, a mysterious gaze
you’re carrying your light that illumes all around
this shimmering lake, this glittering blue
below and above
and as we're riding our bikes down the dusty road
amid fields of wheat and fields of corn
wind blowing in face, it tousles hair of yours
the stars you've woken are blinking at you
scattered all over the skies of pink-blue
please, wave back at them
but please don't leave me down here
and we are walking the paths of our magical lives
the poet wandered this place, the poet's verse didn't die
but do we have enough time, oh do we have enough time to hear the grasshoppers' sounds?

Interlude II
01:15
|
|||
why! do you hear this tune?
i must have heard it before, perhaps when i was young
no no no it’s not the greeters
it’s a bird on the mast
singing what one girl sang long ago
we have to carry on

Final-Triumphant
02:03
|
|||
do we have enough time
do we have enough time
to hear the grasshoppers’ sounds
in the grass near the ground
i would trade all of the art and god
for a human life
do they say we will all be saved
each in our different way
there’s a storm coming up in the sky you see
heavy clouds eating light in the sky
over the place we are going to arrive
do we have enough time
was that victory which made us cry
deaths of others which made us alive
why are trumpets now tooting ashore
why are trumpets now tooting ashore
whom are we taken for
what do they take us for
our ship soared above the sea
right when a deadly billow broke against the rocks
we saw the people gaping
we saw them clapping
heard the pipers blowing and saw young women dancing in joy long forgotten for us
was it a dream? the birdie song
it sounded like return
past the haste and towards what we don't know
or didn't pay attention
a burst of thunder
first drops of rain on our shredded sails
first steps onto the grass and the land
was it all a dream?
